
Basel-based lens manufacturer Optiswiss has formed a development partnership with Indizen Optical Technologies (IOT) that will see the two companies pool their resources.
Following the collaborative launch of the myopia Smyle lens earlier this year, the companies will work together on further technologies, such as progressive lenses.
Samuel Frei, CEO at Optiswiss, said: ‘The partnership with IOT combined research and development capacities and pooled know-how that is rarely found in the market. This gives us completely different opportunities and approaches to realise future development projects.’
Carolina Gago, chief operating office at IOT, added that the partnership would allow the companies to innovate with purpose and deliver greater value to lens wearers.
