An optometrist and cadet forces adult volunteer has been awarded the badge of the League of Mercy.
Based in Bexleyheath, Flight Lieutenant Kris Cottier of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets has been the unit commander of 358 Welling Squadron Air Training Corps since 2004. He has led it to win the national Shakleton trophy, nearly 50 wing and region trophies, partake in Air Cadet exchanges, and expeditions and explorations across the world, a statement said.
Cottier, a freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers, has been an active supporter of the Mayor of Bexley charity appeals and helped to set up the organisation the Welling Cadet Forces Foundation.
