Optometrist Mohommed Zabair has been cleared of misconduct after allegations made by a General Optical Council fitness to practise panel

Optometrist Mohommed Zabair has been cleared of misconduct after allegations made by a General Optical Council fitness to practise panel.

Zabair was given a conditional registration order in May 2014 after the GOC alleged a sexually motivated assault occurred after he had offered to show a female colleague some stretches which he said could help her with pain in her shoulder.

Charges were brought against the registrant and Crown Court trial in April 2015 found him not guilty of all charges.

At the hearing, the committee heard that the female registrant did not report the incident for 10 months for fear of harming her career prospects and noted that there were discrepancies in her evidence.
