Optometrist Sean Rock has raised more than £8,000 for his local charity Cam Sight.
He celebrated his 50th birthday in April by organising a fundraising concert – fixing an 85 piece classical orchestra in which he played violin.
The orchestra hired West Road concert hall hear in Cambridge, where they played Brahms, Nielsen and Tchaikovsky to an audience of 500 people.
‘I had great support from many professional musicians who all gave their time and expertise for nothing and we were able to raise £8308.22 for Cam Sight to continue their vital work for the blind and visually impaired in Cambridgeshire,’ said Rock.
