bear hunt kelcher optometristsOptometrist Michaela Kelcher this month organised a reading event for the children at Little Unicorns Nursery, Shropshire to mark the Read for RNIB Day campaign.

Kelcher said she talked to the youngsters about visual impairments, before they felt Braille and used tree branches and pine cones to experience the 'walk in the woods' from The Bear Hunt story book.

Each child was sent in with £1 and their teddy to raise money for the RNIB.

The practitioner, of Kelcher Optometrists, said: ‘I think it's great that the event was designed to be fully accessible to all, giving a blind or partially sighted child the exact same experience on their Bear Hunt as a sighted child.’
