A group of 160 Ukrainian orphans who have never had an eye examination will be tested by Keith Murphy, an independent optometrist from Kenilworth on his visit to the Nove Selo State Orphanage in Pidvolochisk, Ukraine.
Murphy will be testing the children aged 4-16 years and dispensing spectacles where necessary, with frame donations made by Rodenstock, Continental Eyewear and Dunelm.
Murphy will be joined by a team of 19 volunteers from Ballynahinch Baptist church in Northern Ireland, who along with a local Ukrainian church are working with the children to help refurbish the orphanage. The spectacles dispensed by Murphy will be handled by Rodenstock at its Northfleet laboratory free of charge.
