Optometrist and entrepreneur Imran Hakim was celebrating this week after securing £140,000 investment from two of the infamous judges on television's Dragon's Den programme.

The 29-year-old Bolton-based optometrist impressed the judges with his innovation the 'iTeddy'- a teddy bear which has an mp4 media player on its stomach which plays cartoons to children and reads them bedtime stories.

Hakim pitched his idea to a tough panel of judges comprising Duncan Bannatyne, Deborah Meaden, Richard Farleigh, Theo Paphitis and Peter Jones.

He told Optician he dreamed up the concept of iTeddy last October while searching for a gift with a modern twist for his niece. At the time, to my knowledge, there was nothing like it on the market.'
