Optometry Wales appoints new CEO

Director of contractor services for Community Pharmacy Wales (CPW) Judy Misra will join Optometry Wales as chief executive officer from April 1 2024.

Misra joined CPW in 2010 and was involved in contract negotiation and the development of the new community pharmacy contract that launched in 2022.

Previously, Misra worked alongside Optometry Wales to create community pharmacy briefings and training on the Common Ailments Service in community pharmacy and former Welsh Eye Care Services.

Misra also worked as acting chief executive of CPW for six months in 2023, having previously worked as deputy to the chief executive for seven years.

‘I am very much looking forward to starting with Optometry Wales and supporting optometry practices as they move into a new and exciting future,’ she said.
