Optisoft Dispensing has already been enhanced to feature Rodenstock's product catalogue. This will be soon joined by Norville, Zeiss and Essilor catalogues. Once in place, the system will validate each order on-line before processing it electronically. Also, Optisoft's video-dispensing product, Frames on Faces, is being enhanced to take advantage of new, low-cost video capture devices. A new product from the company, OptomNotes, is based on touch-screen and image-scanning technology. Managing director Keith Sheers says it is the first consulting room software for optometrists that makes allow- ances for the dark environment they work in and a possible lack of keyboard skills. 'Most systems slow down the examination process as optometrists have to struggle to see the keyboard,' he says. 'This has been designed by an optometrist and built assuming the practitioner has no keyboard knowledge.' Optisoft is also planning to add more accounting facilities and management reports to the practice management module, and Mr Sheers says they it is close to unveiling details of its Internet site. He adds that most of the changes are planned to be in place by Optrafair in April. Details on: 01904 693637.
