A historic British spectacle-maker has launched its own brand in a bid to return manufacturing to home soil.
The Optoplast Actman Eyewear Company held a top hat-themed event in London this week to mark the release of its new eyewear brand, called Walter & Herbert.
Optoplast Actman, manufacturer of frames for brands including Karen Millen and Julien MacDonald, launched its own 20-piece optical collection for men and women priced from £200.
The brand name was taken from the company’s founders, Walter Conway and Herbert Thorn, becoming its first foray into an own brand. Designs set out to reflect English heritage and shapes from the 1940s.
