Optos hosts interactive AMD panel discussion

Imaging device manufacturer Optos hosted an interactive panel discussion on May 28 exploring recent advancements in the detection of peripheral retinal changes, geographic atrophy, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Speakers Simon Browning, Ian Jarvis and Mehul Doshi discussed methods for detecting central and peripheral changes, such as structural assessments using retinal photography and OCT imaging plus functional evaluations through autofluorescent imaging.

They also shared real-life case studies demonstrating how a multimodal imaging approach aids in disease detection and monitoring and discussed appropriate referral protocols and management strategies for patients with age-related retinal changes.
