Six months out from Optrafair (April 18-20) at the NEC near Birmingham exhibition chairman, Malcolm Polley explains why the FMO organised this iconic industry event for the benefit of optics.
'Optrafair is unique in that it is the only complete optical show that is held in the UK,' says Polley. Our vision has always been to stage an event that is for the whole of the optical sector – everyone that wants to get involved can get involved. Optrafair is about the industry providing an event for the industry,’ continues Polley. One of the main reasons that the FMO stages this event, rather than hand it over to the commercial sector, is that we can keep costs affordable. We understand that is hugely expensive for optical suppliers to exhibit at these large exhibitions.'
