Practice-building opportunities from contact lenses will be highlighted at Optrafair London next April 11-13 at Olympia National.

Contact lens exhibitors will cover harnessing the affluent presbyopic market for multifocal lenses, dry eye issues, OrthoK for myopia control in children and the use of direct debiting to secure and maintain practice loyalty.

CooperVision will showcase its first smart SiH daily disposable, MyDay, and professional relations manager Karl Aberdeen said London was a key area for its daily disposable business. ‘There is a huge opportunity within the daily disposables market and this is one of the areas of growth for us. The benefits of silicone hydrogels are becoming more widespread; however, in the past most patients have had to compromise in some way when it comes to their contact lenses,’ he added.

Reducing dropout rates and engaging front-line practice staff in contact lens awareness will be Bausch+Lomb’s key messages. ‘Optrafair will provide a great opportunity for us to present our ambitious Biotrue Oneday Elite Program. As part of our commitment, this has been carefully designed to support our customers to efficiently communicate with patients through direct mail and phone conversation templates,’ said B+L regional sales manager Tom Bailey.

Customer price targets will be promoted, where customers can get 14 per cent discounts on Biotrue Oneday lens sales and patients receive 10 per cent off their first purchase.

Other exhibitors include David Thomas Contact Lenses showing the Miru one-month Menicon SiH lenses and Malaysian company Maxvue Vision, which will show a range of monthly and disposable coloured lenses.
