Heidelberg Engineering has sponsored multiple free virtual learning sessions this year for eye care professionals (ECPs) via Cybersight, an award-winning telemedicine and e-learning platform, founded by the charity Orbis.
More than 600 ECPs attended the first live virtual session on diagnosing, monitoring and managing diabetic retinopathy, in over 100 countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.
‘Improved perioperative management of cataract surgery using OCT technology’ took place on April 12 and ‘Using OCT as an approach to diagnose glaucomatous and other optic neuropathies’ was scheduled for July 19. The final session, ‘Clinical technology and surgical techniques in the evolving management of corneal diseases’, would take place on November 15.
‘Our partnership with Orbis is one way we are bringing to life our mission of empowering clinicians to improve patient care by making best-in-class ophthalmic clinical education and content accessible to all,’ said Arianna Schoess Vargas, managing director of Heidelberg Engineering.
