OSA meet reviews AI in optics

Optical suppliers gathered at the Belfry, Warwickshire, for the Optical Suppliers’ Association (OSA) summer meeting, with a focus on the future of artificial intelligence in optics.

E-Health Focus Group vice-chair Dr Stephanie Campbell presented on AI and data planning, highlighting AI opportunities to enable early diagnosis; rapid access to treatment; moderated workload; co-ordinated care; and reduced avoidable sight loss.

OSA chair Roy Stoner summarised: ‘The OSA has never been busier with the formation of the E-Health Focus Group and the work which is underway with the NHS for a national eye care pathway; a review of courier services; targets for Net Zero in optics; MHRA updates and Transitional arrangements for CE and UKCA marking, plus the interest of the GOC in learning more about the work of optical suppliers.’
