Irish rugby coach Conor O'Shea has kicked his contact lenses into touch after deciding to have laser eye surgery.
Harlequins' director of rugby underwent Lasik Intralase treatment at the Advanced Vision Care clinic in London. The former Ireland international reported major problems wearing contact lenses during his career.
O'Shea said: 'On many occasions I'd have to try and get a lens back in place or wait while a spare was brought on for me. With the adrenalin pumping and dirty hands it is never an easy task.'
He added that laser eye surgery for a sportsman was about performance rather than vanity.
