More than 1,300 delegates attended the most ambitious Specsavers' Professional Advancement Committee (PAC) Conference yet in Birmingham last weekend.
Eight parallel tracks of lectures and workshops ran alongside an exhibition and, for the first time, sessions for audiologists. Lectures covered subjects as wide ranging as therapeutics, low vision, legal matters and a presentation by Teifi James on the ocular consequences of sexually transmitted disease.
Paul Carroll, PAC chairman and Specsavers' director of professional services, said: 'With such a full day of quality CET planned, it was extremely gratifying to be able to deliver that to so many people. We improved on last year's optics delegate numbers by over 200 - which is testament, I think, to the strength of the programme.'
