Meera Patel

Meera Patel, an optometrist from Specsavers in Walton on Thames, has raised over £500 for charity, having completed her third consecutive MoonWalk in Hyde Park.

MoonWalk London sees thousands of women walk around London wearing decorated bras for the breast cancer charity Walk The Walk. Encouraged by donations from fellow staff, family and friends, Patel was joined by two aunts, taking some seven hours to complete the 26.2-mile walk. 'The MoonWalk means so much to me as quite a few members of my family have sadly been affected by cancer.'

She added: 'We started at 11.30pm and didn't finish until almost 7am. By that point we were cold and exhausted but still extremely proud.'
