Peter Black appointed by Boots

Former Conlons director and current ABDO president Peter Black has been appointed as dispensing services manager of Boots Opticians.

A statement by the Nottingham-based firm said Black was now its most senior dispensing optician and would provide leadership on all areas in ophthalmic dispensing.

He said: ‘I am very pleased to join the Boots team at such a pivotal time in its history with the formation of Walgreens Boots Alliance. Boots Opticians shares the same goal, to be number one for patient and customer focussed care, and I am looking forward to ensuring ophthalmic dispensing plays its part in the achievement of this goal, and expanding the role of registered dispensing opticians to that end.
