Peterborough practice rolls out red carpet for Duchess of Cornwall

As Optician went to press last week, an optical practice in Peterborough was expecting a royal visit from Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall.

Supporting the area’s National Literacy Trust Hub, her itinerary included a visit to Boots Opticians, a partner of the Trust, to meet staff who would highlight the links between eye health and literacy.

It was estimated that around one million children in the UK have an undiagnosed vision problem that could delay reading development.

Boots Opticians managing director Ben Fletcher said: ‘We are delighted to have the support of HRH The Duchess of Cornwall and hope to inspire young people to keep their eyes healthy and aid them in unlocking new opportunities through reading.’
