PM1 pachymeter wins CE mark

Occuity’s PM1 Pachymeter has officially received CE marking demonstrating its compliance with safety, health and environmental standards in the European Economic Area.

The handheld, non-contact optical device can now be distributed across Europe and be used by more eye care professionals to measure central corneal thickness.

Occuity said the pachymeter provided an accurate, fast and portable solution without the need for anaesthetic eye drops or physical contact with the eye.

Dr Dan Daly, co-founder and CEO at Occuity, said: ‘The PM1’s non-contact design, combined with its accuracy, ease of use and portability, is a gamechanger. We are confident it will greatly enhance the experience of both clinicians and patients alike.’

Birmingham Optical, the UK distributor of the PM1, said it would offer a £500 discount on the first 50 devices shipped to celebrate receiving the CE mark.
