Practice campaigns for Fight for Sight

A practice in Leeds hosted a week of special events to raise money and awareness for Fight for Sight.

Specsavers in Morrisons supermarket in Otley Road ran a tombola and raffle, coffee day and a wine and cheese evening. There was also a face painter and a balloon man to entertain the children. Practice manager Stephanie Hall said the branch had been selling Fight for Sight pin badges for some time and wanted to become more involved. 'We're hoping to make people realise how important their sight is, raise some money for vital research and have a bit of fun at the same time.' The charity's head of fundraising, Annu Mayor, said: 'This is great news as we are funding a Phd student looking into the causes of retinitis pigmentosa at the University of Leeds, so donations from this event can be used locally.'
