Practices who have not received their new GOS contracts urged to contact PCTs

FODO advise practices to contact PCTs if they still haven't received their new GOS contracts (England).

Optical practices in England who have not been contacted by their PCT about new GOS arrangements must act now if they want a new contract.

The deadline for PCTs to contact practices, including those using 'grandfathering' arrangements, was May 31.

Commenting on the deadline, FODO chief executive David Hewlett told Optician this week: 'May 31 was an important milestone. We know from members' queries, PCTs are now beginning to contact practices asking them whether they wish to have a contract. These letters tend to be written in legalise, are not terribly user-friendly, and in some cases the PCTs are setting very challenging deadlines for responses but nevertheless they are beginning to take action.
