Practitioner to answer charge in Crown Court

A Selby-based optician has appeared before a magistrates court accused of 'obtaining sexual gratification' while in the process of conducting an eye examination with a 14-year-old girl, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post.

A Selby-based optician has appeared before a magistrates court accused of 'obtaining sexual gratification' while in the process of conducting an eye examination with a 14-year-old girl, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post.

John David Gill appeared before Pontefract Magistrates Court charged with the offence which is alleged to have taken place at the premises of Clear Vision Opticians in The Arcade, Knottingley.

The local newspaper reports that Gill was charged on August 7 2008 with being a person aged 18 and over and for the purposes of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally being engaged in sexual activity where he could be observed by a child aged 14.
