Seven shades for Ray-Ban opticals

Seven shades for Ray-Ban opticals

  • Ray-Ban has released its new spring/summer optical collection for 2005.

Pictured below is the RB5042 - star of the Ray-Ban woman communication campaign for the season. The 'striking square frame' confidently interprets the latest fashion trends with cutting-edge colours and materials'. Transparent plastic assists in bringing out the 'fresh and feminine' tones of the frame in glossy caramel shades, including orange, cherry and candy pink.

The Ray-Ban logo is picked out in relief on the flex sides, while chunky lines taper at the tips to reveal the metal core - 'a defining feature for the more transparent versions of the frame'.

There are a total of seven shades to choose from, including ice white and the two-plate version, a frame that is black on the outside and transparent inside, creating a 'sophisticatedly elegant, utterly fashion-conscious look'.

Ray-Ban explained that its collection was the result of meticulous styling that succeeded in translating the best of the latest trends into a range of ever-contemporary eyewear. 'Ray-Ban embodies a unique style of its own, a style seen on the faces of millions of people around the world,' the company added.

    Play of Metropolitan coloursColour fantasya.jpg

  • OWP Design has launched a new colourful designs in the Metropolitan collection. The 2103 for ladies and the 7575 for men are plastic models, which are partly translucent and partly opaque, creating a 'unique play of colours between the somewhat outrageous temples and the elegant front'. The integration of the material of the temple into the front is said to make 'an especially harmonious, flowing transition'. The company added that its collection of progressive lens frames was as technically perfect as it was fashionable, due to the 'remarkably flat and short spring hinges'. This made them ideal for 'particularly demanding clientele who expect a perfect design from their first progressive lens frames'. Four colour combinations are available per model so that everyone can create an individual look, added OWP.

    Sunglass drive from Lotus EyewearLotuspic.jpg

  • Lotus Eyewear has launched three Italian-made sunglass styles in Lotus Sun 07, 08 (right) and 09 that follow the sleek looks of the brand and reflect its high performance nature.

Designed by Andrew Actman, they also meet European safety standards, including the British Standard BS EN 1836.

'More and more motorists now realise the visual performance, comfort and protection provided by a pair of good quality sunglasses and the new styles have been designed with their particular needs in mind,' he said.

All have lightweight CR39 lenses and are tinted to Category 3 so that they are dark enough to shield from the low winter sun, for visual comfort while driving.

Tint colours are grey, brown, amber and green, selected for driving suitability and each sunglass comes in three colours.
There are two close-fitting wrap styles - Lotus Sun 08, a sweeping plastic model and Lotus Sun 09, a modern take on the classic aviator.
