Animal sunglasses are expected to be in great demand this spring, thanks to a higher profile for the sports lifestyle brand, according to Norville.

The UK brand produces clothing and accessories for the surfing scene and is popular with a wide range of age groups from teens to the over 40s.

The women's sunglass line comprises plastics and metals in bright pinks, aubergines and mauves - some etched with the brand's female flower logo.

Karen-Jane Polley of Norville Eyewear highlighted the wraps, hot metals and angular shaping of the collection, along with the colours and flare-coated tints and flash mirrors of the tough polycarbonate lenses.

Face ˆ Face builds on solid foundation
Building on previous collections are the new 2005 designs from Paris-based Face ˆ Face, which take their influence from architecture.FaceaFacea1.jpg

The front of Ligne 2 (bottom picture) shows 'sharp volumes and edges, the temples and the side pieces are one, the sharp angle of the side piece seems to be floating off the front'.

Faceaface2a.jpgThe colours of the temples and the frame front contrast to emphasise the 'floating' look. Colours include shiny chocolate, dark turquoise, shiny Bordeaux/grey and black and English pink.

Model Archi 3 (pictured top) combines the theme of graphic research with the idea of shifted surfaces. A sharp line divides the temple and the side pieces to reveal the back layer of the laminate and create an effect of movement. Colours include transparent petrol blue/burnt orange, tortoise/brown prism and ruby/taupe.

Marchon preview goes swimmingly
Marchon showcased its eyewear at a preview of the entire range of 2005 Calvin Klein and ck-branded items at a trendy event in London.

Eyewear was integrated into the display of product at the show for fashion and eyewear businesses.

The ck ophthalmic range, aimed at 16-25 year olds, features lightness in colours and weight, with a mixture of plastics, rubber and metals at 'affordable prices'. Big eye sizes still dominated the sunwear range. This was displayed among the clothing and accessory ranges, with colours following an organic theme in greens and browns.

The main Calvin Klein range maintained this natural feel with animal prints, textures in greens, sand, bone and wood.  Women's sunwear was reminiscent of the 1920s and 1950s, featuring large eye sizes and graduated tints. The sunglasses in berry, caramel and toffee were displayed among the company's swimwear which featured deep pinks, browns and greens.
