Organisers have confirmed that Professor Bruce Evans, director of research at the Institute of Optometry, will open Optometry Tomorrow Bitesize in October with a lecture on migraines and the role of the optometrist.
The College of Optometrists’ one-day conference, at Ascot Racecourse on Sunday October 5, will also repeat other well-received lectures from main annual conference Optometry Tomorrow, which was held in York in March.
Professor Evans said: ‘As optometrists, we frequently encounter patients who experience headaches and we need to know how to manage these cases. However, there is limited scientific and clinical literature available that give optometrists practical guidance on detecting and treating cases that may be amenable to optometric interventions.
