Optical bodies are being encouraged by the Optical Confederation to demonstrate further solidarity and hold their individual meetings at Optrafair.
Speaking on behalf of the Confederation, the Association of Optometrists' chief executive Bob Hughes told Optician that member bodies holding their meetings at Optrafair was an excellent idea and that the Confederation would encourage them to do so where possible.
David Hewlett, chief executive of the Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians (FODO), echoed the sentiment, pointing out that FODO had in the past held both formal and informal meetings at Optrafair. He said that member bodies would be encouraged to hold their meetings at Optrafair if it was 'sensible and convenient for all Confederation members'.
