Rawdon Optical enters anti-reflection market

Rawdon Optical has invested in anti-reflection coating equipment and expects its first commercial products using the technology to be available in early October.

The Leeds-based lab has made a large financial committment by purchasing the Satis Loh 1200-DLX and MC-380-X vacuum deposition machines.

'We are days away from the first lens coming off now,' said Richard Crook, managing director of Rawdon Optical. 'This is the first new entry into the UK's anti-reflection market for a long time. We've had a rolling programme of investment and having anti-reflection coating technology, in addition to our freeform and digital capabilities, is a good step forward in our evolution.'
