Satis Vacuum has released the new Satis MC 380, the successor to the MC 360.
It features an interactive touch-screen for programming and process visualisation. The control software is based on the new professional Windows 2000 versions and is now identical for all Satis box coaters except the MC 260. The company says this simplifies training and increases flexbility. The MC 380 is fully networkable and can be controlled remotely.
The redesigned pumping system delivers 30 per cent more performance, reducing process times by another 15 per cent, a company spokesman claimed. The LAB version, designated MC LAB 380, has an ultrasonic washer, flowbox, oven and worktop with a footprint of 5.8sq m.
Also new to the market is the ultracompact Satis SP-200 sputtering stystem. Its key assests are its small size Ð 100x110x175cm Ð short cycle times, simple operation and maintenance and coating quality. Satis says this makes it an ideal entry-level system. The SP-200 uses only one coating material but works with oxygen and nitrogen so does not need recharging after every cycle. It can coat several hundred lenses before the target has to be renewed.
