Rear-surface synergy from Seiko

Seiko says its Synergy lenses reduce distortions caused by conventional front-surface progressives by as much as 40 per cent, thanks to the reduced magnification from the rear-surface design.

It claims to have brought together the world's thinnest and lightest lens materials with the pioneering, patented, rear-surface technology, increasing the visual field by up to 30 per cent.
Norville's Paul Walden says: 'Patients who have gone as far as they can with front-surface progressives are the people to upgrade to these lenses. By bringing the progressive surface closer to the eye the lens opens up the whole visual field, bringing a marked increase in performance as well as improved cosmetics.'
The lenses have a minimum fitting height of 18mm and come in 1.6, 1.67 and 1.74 options.
