Replay invites whole practice

Trainer adds courses for non professional staff

NEWS.PeterCharlesworth.gifContinuing education company Replay Learning is to return to Bradford and Egham for its autumn clinical conferences. A third event will be staged in Nottingham.

The conference dates are Sunday September 25, Sunday  October 9 and Sunday October 23 respectively, with a new programme added specifically for optical assistants.

Bookings are now under way for the conferences, with all three approved for eight CET points under the GOC scheme.

'We've designed the conferences to be as relevant to clinical practice as possible,' said Peter Charlesworth, Replay Learning's optometrist director.

'We have arranged a wide choice of lectures, seminars and workshops aimed at optometrists, dispensing opticians and contact lens opticians. And this year, for the first time, we are also offering a training programme for optical assistants. It's an opportunity for the whole practice to come and learn together.'

He said that an important part of 2005's conferences would be changes brought about by the Section 60 order.

'One of the key features at this year's conferences will be the changes to the Opticians Act and how that will affect the way we all practise,' he said.

'We'll also be talking about the changes to the Medicines Act and what that means for optometrists wanting to use therapeutics.

'For DOs, we'll be talking about non tolerance to spectacles and varifocal design while for contact lens practitioners we'll be discussing toric lenses and how to manage CL complications.'
