However, strong cash generation brought a reduction in net debt from $46.2m to $25.9m.
Optos said it anticipated greater emphasis on capital sales in ophthalmology over its pay-per patient (PPP) rental model. The Scotsman (July 22) reported Optos was hit in part by the lower number of machines installed by high street optometrists, renting the system on a PPP formula.
