Marcolin has posted a 17.4 per cent rise in sales for the first nine months of 2007, with consolidated net revenue of €132.7m.

The company said the increase was achieved by the performance of its entire portfolio, particularly the Tom Ford, Roberto Cavalli and Montblanc collections.

The results also revealed that compared to the same period in 2006, there was a significant increase in revenue in Europe (excluding Italy) with revenues up by 27.8 per cent. UK sales were up by 19 per cent in 2007 when compared to the first nine months of 2006.

However, the sports division Cébé underperformed, and overall sales for the third quarter were down by 5.4 per cent.

Marcolin general manager Antonio Bortuzzo said: 'The Group's results are more than satisfactory in terms of revenue growth and margins, despite the problems with Cébé, which management is taking steps to solve. The growth trend is confirmed by the current status of our order book.'
