Hachette UK joins forces with RNIB on Bookshare platform

Publishing group Hachette UK has joined forces with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to make all of its books available via the institute’s Bookshare platform.

A free online service, RNIB Bookshare enables print-disabled people in the UK access books that can be read electronically or adapted to the needs of people who are blind or partially sighted.

RNIB director of services David Clarke said: ‘We are delighted that Hachette has partnered with RNIB Bookshare as this service gives millions of people the opportunity to literally open up their education with access to materials. Our collaboration with Hachette UK now ensures that Bookshare users have access to over 33,000 titles and we look forward to continuing to further develop our partnership with them.’
