Two practices have been handed prizes for doing more to help blind and partially sighted people.
The Royal National Institute of Blind People Scotland recognised J Holmes Wilson Opticians in Melrose and Hall's Opticians in Galashiels under the Best Optometry Practice category of its Go Shop Awards scheme.
John Holmes Wilson said: 'We were really very pleased to receive this award. Most people can have some sight and it's a matter of making the most of what they have. As with any visual challenge, we help our clients find the best possible solution to help them with their everyday life tasks, whatever they may be.'
