Nominations include singers Annie Lennox and Rod Stewart. Among other nominees for the male and female awards are Sir Michael Caine, Ewan McGregor, Twiggy and Helena Bonham-Carter. Celebrities nominated for the Sunglass Wearer of the Year award include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Zoe Ball and Footballers' Wives actress Susie Amy.
Last year TV presenter Fern Britton carried off the Spectacle Wearer of the Year award, with Patsy Kensit being given the Sunglass Wearer of the Year accolade. The invitation-only reception to Dartmouth House starts at 9am, and is organised by optical charity The Eyecare Trust and sponsored by Hoya UK.
Eyecare Trust chairman Iain Anderson said: 'The popularity of Spectacle Wearer of the Year confirms how desirable spectacles and sunglasses have become as fashion accessories.'
The Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2003 will be unveiled on Monday (September 8) at a venue in London's Mayfair.
