ColorMatic X is said to be Rodenstock’s fastest and clearest photochromic lens so far while offering protection against UV light, artificial blue light and glare.
The German supplier explained the lens ensures the optimal amount of light is allowed through to improve visual comfort for the wearer.
It added that for light-sensitive spectacle wearers in particular, ColorMatic offered relaxed vision thanks to tinting in appropriate light conditions.
The lens changes from dark to colourless 54% faster than the previous generation of ColorMatic and Rodenstock said it reached a market-leading clarity of up to 95%.
It added that the lenses darken by up to 88% outdoors, providing the wearer with comfortable vision and protection in changing light conditions and bright sunlight.
