He claimed phase two would start in the second half of 2005 and would strengthen Rodenstock UK's status as the largest independent laboratory in the UK. It would also be one of the most technically advanced in the world, he said.
'When we created the Superlab concept back in 2001, we built it with 30 per cent spare capacity, but we have now outgrown this. Current demand for Rodenstock products dictates that we must expand once again.'
In total, over 50 new jobs have been added by the expansion, of which 20 have already been filled.
