Rodenstock releases new version of 3D measurement and dispensing tool

Rodenstock has released the fourth iteration of its 3D measurement and dispensing tool Impressionist.

Since its launch in 2005, the Impressionist has been the only 3D video centring system without a measuring attachment in the habitual head and body position. With Impressionist 4, 99% of the inner parts have been upgraded and the software interface has been redesigned.

At the heart of the unit is new 3D stereo camera technology, that the company said allowed for faster, more accurate and automatic determination of the patient’s individual parameters.

During the process, pictures are taken from two perspectives while looking into the mirror with the pre-adjusted frame – without the need for a measuring attachment. The new device provides 30% better camera resolution and an improved camera sensor simplifies determination of the individual parameters ‘with accuracy down to the pixel,’ said the company.
