Rodenstock increased pro-forma sales to €505m in the 2022 financial year, which was up from €486m on a like-for-like basis on the previous year.
Despite a slow-down in sales growth in the second half of 2022, the lens company generated recurring EBITDA of €118m in 2022, which was down 4% compared to the previous year on a like-for like basis.
Marcus Desimoni, CEO of the Rodenstock Group, said: ‘Strategic milestones such as the acquisition of Indo Optical and the sale of the eyewear business have provided the basis for further profitable growth in the coming years.’
Rodenstock said growth was driven by demand for its Big Vision biometric progressive lenses and the launch of its Big Norm range. It noted the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on the fiscal year, and said it exited the Russian market by transferring ownership of its Russian business to local management.
