Rodenstock has reported a 9 per cent increase in sales at €371m for 2006 compared with €345m the previous year.

The Munich-based firm said the provisional results increased its rate of growth, with positive results in all its areas of activities and a strengthened position on the market, particularly in Germany.

The development was largely driven by progressive lens innovation and its ImpressionIST terminal sales tool. New ranges of Rodenstock and Porsche Design frames and sunglasses and sports eyewear were also highlighted.

CEO Dr Giancarlo Galli said: 'With expected sales of €371m in 2006, we have managed to increase our growth rate significantly for the third year in succession. At the same time our profits have gone up at an even higher rate.'
