Rollinson runs for Stickler aid

A supply manager from Shropshire will run the London Marathon on April 22 to raise money for Stickler syndrome, a genetic progressive condition which can cause retinal detachment and myopia among other conditions.

Jason Rollinson from Newport suffered a detached retina in his left eye in 1989. After several operations, he lost sight in that eye. Mr Rollinson has since discovered he has Stickler syndrome, along with his brother and father. He aims to raise &\#163;1,000 for the organisation that provides support for people with this condition. - For further details or to sponsor Mr Rollinson contact 01902 377566 or email lorraine@ORTON82.fsnet.co.uk. Flying high with UltraVision - Odiham practitioner Richard Ward was sky high after choosing a day's flying lesson with UltraVision. Mr Ward took part in UltraVision's 'Select the Best' promotion which supports the Igel Select range of speciality lenses. He regularly prescribes these lenses, both in the bifocal and toric forms at his Hampshire practice. The company's 'Select the Best' promotion also offers practitioners the choice of driving a Ferrari, flying a helicopter, skydiving, or driving a tank. The high performance lenses are produced from Benz 3X, a 49 per cent water content material. UltraVision claims the Igel Select lenses have three times the water retentive properties of standard 38 per cent Hema and feature no significant in-situ water loss, reduced surface deposition and high comfort levels.
