Safety specs are energy efficient

Bacou-Dalloz's new Pulsafe XC safety prescription spectacles were recently trialled by Centrica Energy, the arm of Centrica plc that supplies gas for its British Gas customers.

'We have some staff who request replacement spectacles more frequently than the norm because of scratched prescription lenses,' said Brian Helliwell, HS&E adviser for Centrica Energy.

'The Pulsafe XC will enable us to reduce this cost, since the outer lens can be replaced without having to change or replace the more expensive prescription lens behind this,' said Helliwell

The Pulsafe multi-material technology (MMT) used in the XC spectacles' lightweight frame is said by the company to provide extra long-term comfort and wearability.

Wherever the frame is in contact with the face or head, all the pressure points are relieved, giving all-day comfort, cushioned temples provide non-slip function and the XC frame is totally adjustable for an almost tailor-made fit, said the company.

'The new Pulsafe XC is a truly innovative product and we're very pleased Bacou-Dalloz asked us to try it during the trial,' added Helliwell.
