The Safilo group recorded 12 per cent growth in fourth-quarter turnover for 2006 at €278.4m, compared to 2005.

The company reported a 9.4 per cent rise in consolidated turnover for 2006, at €1,122m, citing excellent sales in all key international markets and an impressive performance of licensed and house brands.

Safilo said that as well as considerable progress in Italy, there was a clear improvement in other European countries after an unremarkable first quarter. There was notable growth in northern Europe, including the UK, Germany, Norway and Sweden, with double-digit growth compared to 2005. There was strong growth for house brands Safilo (Safilo Glamour pictured) and Blue Bay, with Armani and Dior standing out among the licensed brands.
