Italian-based eyewear manufacturer Safilo has improved its turnover by 10.7 per cent for the first six months of 1999 to L506.3bn from L457.5bn. Total sales were equal to 8.7m units of frames.
The company's financial statement for the period said that the European market was 'positive', with sales by French and Spanish subsidiaries standing out.
