Safilo’s sales rise in 2019

Safilo reports a 6.5% rise in net sales for the first half of this year

Eyewear producer Safilo has reported a 6.5% rise in net sales for the first half of this year.

Its wholesale business grew by 4.1% and the Italian eyewear company posted a profit of €8.7m, compared with a net loss of €4.3m in the first half of 2018.

Safilo CEO, Angelo Trocchia, said: ‘The results we achieved in the first six months showed a positive sales progression... A first half of the year that confirms our expectations for a positive 2019.’

Sales in Europe, North America and China were the main reason for the strong sales growth, and Safilo’s on-license brands such as Dior, Hugo Boss and Max Mara stood out as ‘key positive drivers.’
