Safilo uses 'real' people to sell new collections

The Safilo Group has launched three new collections for its Carrera sunglasses range.

The company is using black and white 'anti-glamour portraits of real, expressive people' in its promotional campaign. The 'Ari', 'Helios' and 'Zorba' models featured are part of the 'Classic' collection. The line of the front and the slim profile give an 'almost aerodynamic look, which is light and restrained', says Safilo. It adds that the ranges use the latest technology and innovative materials, such as Spectrum nm 589 lenses using Barberini crystal. One of the other collections is the 'Sport Tech' range which uses technology developed in motor racing. They are designed for use in competition by athletes and, according to Safilo, use state-of-the-art, high-performance materials and protective polycarbonate lenses. The third collection is the 'Sport Life' range which includes the Kids mini-series.
