Scandinavians take honours

Frames

Scandinavian manufacturers Lindberg and POC have both won Red Dot Design awards for their eyewear.

Lindberg received two awards in the Product Design Quality category for its 1800 horn frame (pictured) and the Acetanium Teen collection. The Danish manufacturer said over 1,800 companies from 58 countries entered the design awards, and that its trophy cabinet now boasted no fewer than 49 major design accolades.

Swedish sports eyewear manufacturer POC also scooped two Red Dot design awards - one for its POC Eyes range in the Fashion, Lifestyle and Accessories category and one for its Fornix Ski Helmet. 'With experience gained in goggle optics, we decided to take the next step with the conviction that we would also be able to make a difference in the field of high performance eyewear. It's a line with the focus on performance and optical perfection,' said CEO and founder of POC Stefan Ytterborn.
