Scrivens Opticians has strengthened its foothold in South East England with the acquisition of the Ronald Brown Group of opticians for an undisclosed sum.
The purchase of the 21-branch business, based in London and the Home Counties, follows Scrivens' acquisitions of the Eye Check and OC Weathersbee groups (13 outlets in total) earlier in the year.
The Birmingham-based group now comprises 138 optical branches and six dedicated hearing centres. Services from its Hearing Company are now available in 500 branches nationwide.
Ronald Brown practices will continue trading under their current name.
Scrivens chairman and managing director Nicholas Georgevic said: 'Our successful business formula has enabled us to expand rapidly over the last few years, but we have only achieved this by selecting companies whose background and positioning demonstrate a clear fit with Scrivens' own ethos.'
